When you select your listening location and choose a radio band, our system filters which terrestrial stations (AM/FM/SW) you see based on whether their radio waves would actually reach you—considering frequency, transmitter location, distance, and atmospheric conditions.

Unlike simple station directories that list everything, Gleetune's conditional filtering mimics a real radio receiver. Shortwave propagation changes throughout the day as the ionosphere responds to solar radiation, so stations visible in the morning may disappear in the evening as different frequencies become viable. Internet-only stations have no terrestrial broadcast, so they're always available regardless of location.
